European countries have always attached great importance to the recycling of PVC industry, and have promoted a series of measures to adhere to the improvement and efficiency of PVC industry. In 2010, the European Union of plastic organizations set up an industry and Trade Organization called "vinyl2010" to promote the recycling of PVC, strive to change people's views on PVC and achieve great success. Now, facing the weak economic situation and the severe situation of the European debt crisis, the European PVC industry is trying to find a new way to deal with the current challenges
with the help of enterprise alliances to promote the concept of energy-saving recycling
the establishment of "vinyl2010" has made the collection and recycling of PVC in Europe a great success. Last year, the European PVC recycling network handled a total of about 260284 tons of PVC waste, exceeding the initial target of 200000 tons, with remarkable results. Inspired by this, the EU PVC Industry Association announced a new 2020 sustainable development goal last month. It is worth mentioning that in view of the successful experience of this organization, the industry has recently drafted a series of new development goals for the overall combination of vinylplu, such as plastics, ceramics and metals
josefertl, chairman of vinylplus, introduced the plastic bags used in almost all European vegetable markets: "vinyl2010 has achieved great success, and vinylplus is its successor. The purpose of its establishment is to strive to achieve the same achievements. At present, we have started our first goal, and are also seeking new and even more challenging goals. At present, we have five challenges to achieve." The five challenges of the vinylplus project involve five aspects of the PVC value chain, namely, organic chlorine emissions, additives, energy efficiency, renewable energy and raw material utilization, and the sustainable development of the industry. ERTL said, "we are looking for more effective management and use methods and sustainable development technologies in the PVC life cycle, and strive to reduce the use of energy and raw materials; another goal is to reduce special energy consumption by 20 percent." In terms of the use of organochlorine, vinylplus tries to prevent the industry from increasing its emissions to nature; In terms of transportation, the organization plans to introduce a risk assessment system for the transportation of raw materials, and strictly control the gateway from the first step of industrial production
but vinylplus's most ambitious goal to prevent is to achieve an annual recovery of pvc800000 tons. ERTL, chairman of vinylplus, said that the annual recycling of 800000 tons of PVC is a big challenge, "because about 100000 tons of them are difficult to recycle materials, such as composites or contaminated substances." He also said that at present, it is difficult to estimate the proportion of usable materials in the 800000 tons of recycled materials. "Because PVC is mainly used in parts with a long service life in the construction field, such as doors and windows, pipes or floors, it takes a long time to recycle." "But if we assume that there are 3 million tons of recyclable materials by 2020 - of course, this is a very rough estimate, but according to this budget, 800000 tons of PVC recycling per year is still a considerable figure."
another challenge comes from the establishment of recycling markets, incentives for reproduction, and consumer recognition of products made from such materials
industry organizations work together to help recycling
in order to encourage more PVC production chains to join this program, vinylplus has received the help of a "key assistant": the natural step (TNS) - the International Red Cross for sustainable development. In addition to giving advice, TNS will also help vinylplus cooperate with stakeholders. The participation of stakeholders will help viny lplus understand how relevant people outside the industry evaluate our actions, "Ertl said, "We will consider their opinions very carefully.
David Cook, executive Ambassador of TNS, said in a statement that procurement decision makers usually look forward to better selection opportunities and hope that suppliers will respond positively to their needs and the sustainable development standards of their industry. Vinyl2010 is a rare organization that manages the industry itself through voluntary actions.
vinylplus is trying to introduce a kind of vinyl Plus product logo to help consumers distinguish products. The logo will show that his rubber tensile machine can also cooperate with the type of test object or requirements to destroy the test piece and obtain the whole test process. The products bought by them are made from PVC recycling, and using this product can consume less natural resources. ERTL said that labeling also helps to encourage non participants to join the program, especially those recycling manufacturers
according to vinylplus, all European PVC resin and stabilizer manufacturers and polymer plasticizer manufacturers are deeply interested in this project, but the 20000 PVC recyclers in Europe are not all so
the influence of the alliance model is increasing
"we spent a lot of money and efforts on this project to promote the sustainable and energy-efficient image of PVC," Ertl said. "Although this project can not make financial contributions to all companies in the value chain, they can really benefit from the good image of PVC and the work of vinyl2010."
like vinyl2010, vinylplus will also be supervised and operated by an independent committee composed of representatives of the European Parliament, the European Commission, trade unions, retailers and consumer organizations. Members of the organization include the European Council of vinyl manufacturers, European plastic recycling producers, the European stabliser Manufacturers Association and the European Council of plasticizers and intermediates
earlier this year, vinyl2010 released its final progress report. The report said that it had achieved or exceeded all the goals set by the industry in 2010, especially in terms of collection and recycling. Vinyl2010 has made remarkable achievements, which is an excellent performance of self-discipline in the industry in practical work. Josef ERT, President of vinyl2010, said, "it's no exaggeration to say that this has revolutionized the PVC value chain in Europe. With the special attraction of PVC to the market, our department has always maintained the industry competitiveness, while meeting the needs of society, and greatly enhanced its role as the preferred material for sustainable procurement. At the same time, the recycling and reuse of PVC materials in Europe has also contributed to a new creation of recycling industry."
language: there is no doubt that the PVC industry has entered the era of high cost support. The industry profits have been greatly compressed, and the concept and technology of green, efficient and Recycled PVC will surely obtain broad development. The European vinylplus organization not only brings opportunities for the entire PVC industry to reduce costs and promote production, but also brings new ideas to environmental protection and recyclable production methods
